One key to this relationship is simplicity
The earth is the Lord 's and the fullness thereof, the world and those who dwell therein. (Psalm 24:1 ESV)
Having possessions
Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal, but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. (Matthew 6:19-20)
Simplicity can lessen…
Nor to put their hope in wealth, which is so uncertain, but to put their hope in God, who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment. (1 Timothy 6:17 NIV)
So how much is enough?
Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and he will give you everything you need. (Luke 12:31 NLT)
You brought pavement?
“The land of a rich man produced plentifully, and he thought to himself, ‘What shall I do, for I have nowhere to store my crops?’ And he said, ‘I will do this: I will tear down my barns and build larger ones, and there I will store all my grain and my goods. And I will say to my soul, “Soul, you have ample goods laid up for many years; relax, eat, drink, be merry.”’ But God said to him, ‘Fool! This night your soul is required of you, and the things you have prepared, whose will they be?’ (Luke 12:16-20 ESV)
True Riches
Behold, I am coming soon! My reward is with Me, and I will give to everyone according to what he has done. (Revelation 22:12 NIV)
Simplicity
If we have enough food and clothing, let us be content. After all, we brought nothing with us when we came into the world, and we can’t take anything with us when we leave it. (Timothy 6:8,7 NLT)
