Spend quality time in God’s Word—Strengthening your faith (Part 1)

This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us—whatever we ask—we know that we have what we asked of him. (1 John 5:14-15 NIV)

1- Spend quality time in God’s Word. (See Rom. 10:17) Read it, listen to it, memorize it, meditate on it. “Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in your salvation.” (1 Peter 2:2)
2- Read accounts of divine intervention. Accounts of answered prayer, both in the Bible and in modern-day settings, put “skin” on God’s promised help. What He has done for others, He can do for you.
3- Trust in God’s promises. As you study the Word, make a list of verses that contain promises from God concerning certain circumstances; trust in God to fulfill His promises according to His will when you pray.
4- Stay positive. Look at difficulties, obstacles, and challenges as opportunities to stretch your faith.
5- Take your problems and questions to God in prayer. God says, “Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know.” (Jeremiah 33:3) As you learn to work more closely with God to find solutions and answers, you will become more aware of His ever-present love and help.  ...But I read that Jesus said: "All power is given unto Me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, and lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world." It is the word of a gentleman of the most strict and sacred honour, so there's an end of it! I will not cross furtively to-night as I intended. Should such a man as I flee? Nay, verily… —David Livingstone (From his diary)
