He’ll take care of you!

Oh, that I had the wings of a dove! I would fly away and be at rest. I would flee far away and stay in the desert; I would hurry to my place of shelter, far from the tempest and storm. (Psalms 55:6-8)

At an art contest held to see who could best illustrate peace, most of the participating artists contributed tranquil scenes of lazy summer days in the countryside, where all was stillness and harmony.

Well, that’s a form of peace, but the picture that won the award illustrated the hardest kind of peace to have.

Barely visible on a branch overhanging a raging, roaring, storm-swollen waterfall was a little nest where a tiny bird was singing peacefully away, in spite of the turmoil below.

That kind of peace comes only through the Prince of Peace, Jesus, and the knowledge that whatever happens, He’ll take care of you! —DBB [1]

Peace of the running waves to you,

Deep peace of the flowing air to you,

Deep peace of the quiet earth to you,

Deep peace of the shining stars to you,

Deep peace of the shades of night to you,

Moon and stars always giving light to you,

Deep peace of Christ, the Son of Peace, to you. —Traditional Gaelic blessing
